Businesses we have worked with – from big to small, we cater for all.

Halal World

Halal world is the leading halal meat retailer in Asda stores with concessions up and down the country. We are proud to say that we are the preferred food safety trainer for Halal world. We have worked closely with Halal world to deliver tailored training so that all staff has thorough understanding of food safety issues and have helped improve their processes.

Operations manager, Mohammed Ibrahim said “HTP has delivered a high level of training to all our staff and have provided some valuable advice regarding improvements in the monitoring process. The trainers were knowledgeable (click here for video) and delivered the training to suit our needs. We are delighted with this partnership and hope it continues into the future”

We have also worked with Halal World to prepare for their BRC audit – an essential requirement if they are to keep supplying goods in Asda stores. We are proud to announce that Halal World achieved a 5 star rating from the British Retail Consortium.

For one of the best buffets in Birmingham you can’t look further than Haveli on Coventry Rd. Our association with Haveli started in 2012. Haveli had just opened up with the former manager of Nawab restaurant of Manchester, Haider Ali at its helm. With our training and consultancy, Haveli has achieved a 5 star rating at its first inspection on a very busy night. Haider Ali said “Our rating was all down to our training. The staff really had a good understanding of how to carry out food preparation consistently well and this was proved when our inspection took place on a very busy night. The inspectors were very impressed. We will be using HTP in the future for all our food related issues”

One of our proudest success stories is of Pisces fish bar in Sheldon. Serving fish and chips in the traditional way, Pisces has benefitted from our training and consultancy by achieving a 5 star rating from Birmingham City Council. Recently it entered a nationwide competition organised by ‘Fry Magazine’ (the leading publication for fish frying and the fast food industry) where it was named as one of the top 50 fish and chips shops in the UK for the quality of its food and its hygiene standards.

Manager Faisal said “apart from receiving training for the staff, we also went for a full mock inspection by Keith Gwilliams. He spent the day with us and gave some really good practical advice about changes and improvements to make. We made the changes and feel it was all well worth it – it helped us get a 5 star rating and helped towards a national award for our shop. We are very happy to be associated with HTP and thankful for the help provided”.

At HTP we were so impressed by Pisces ability to produce food of such high quality consistently that we now have Faisal as a consultant – who can advise on cooking methods in the fish and chip shop industry to produce high quality food items that customers will return for again and again.

Red Patisseries

When a local brummie cabbie of 15 years wanted to make a career change – not even he thought it would be in the world of bakery! But that is exactly what Arif Mohammed ended up doing. At the grand age of 35, he enrolled on a cake decorating course and 2 years later started his own business.

When Arif first came to us he had no experience of the food business sector apart from occasional consumption. Through our consultancy from the very start Arif registered himself with the local council (if you don’t register a food business with your local council, you are operating illegally – even changes of operator must be registered!), arranged the work flow to minimise cross-contamination, sited all machinery following best practice methods, provided advice on storage methods to reduce pest problems, completed the SFBB pack and produced easy to use compliance records sheets.

Arif said “I knew how to bake and decorate cakes, use the machinery but I had no idea of where to start when it came to setting up the kitchen layout. I think without HTP’s help I would have made alot of basic mistakes which would have been a hassle to put right. I have also had the first visit from the local council and apart from making a few minor recommendations, they said everything was fine and that I could start trading. There will be an surprise visit but I am very confident that if keep the good work up then I wont have any problems getting a good rating. I am hoping to take some staff on and will use HTP for the training because they do provide a very professional service”.
